for Hunter Education



Note: Volunteers are needed to help operate the ranges.
This is a great opportunity for people who have time to help others enjoy the shooting sports. Contact the Range Manager Herm Rackl at 801-972-1326 or hermrackl@utah.gov.


Upon arrival, check in at the Hunter Education Building.  Sign in, pay fees ($5.00 per day for adults, $2.00 for juniors under 15).  Eye protection and ear protection required on all ranges.  Bring your own, or available for sale at check in.  Targets also available.  Rest rooms and refreshment machines available.

Range rules are clearly posted and explained by range masters.


Covered picnic pavilions available (two) near the main building.

Shooting Range Facilities: 

Smallbore range (50 foot) mainly used for hunter education courses is limited to .22 rimfire only.

Pistol and Muzzle loader range for all types except centerfire rifles has target points to 50 yards.




Centerfire rifle range (.22 rimfires not allowed on this range).  Handguns legal for hunting amy be used as well as muzzle loaders.  100 and 200 yard positions open all days range is open.  300 yard points on limited schedule- call for details.




Trap & Skeet Shooting Facilities:
The Skeet line with 12 firing points is adjacent to the clubhouse

Four trap towers are also available for use.
